After keeping a close eye on the weather all week, we were treated to a splendid, sun-filled day at Marple today. A special thank you goes out to Steve for generously stepping in to sponsor today’s competition. Despite the damp conditions, the course held up admirably, with the club arranging a 9-hole loop that members enjoyed twice to complete 18 holes.
The standout performance of the day belonged to Joe Wilcox, who clinched victory with an impressive 47 points. With mats in play throughout the course, Joe truly showcased his skills, dominating across the board. Not only did he secure the coveted Welcome Trophy and the Winners trophy, but he also claimed victory in the Nearest the Pin competition and triumphed in the Twos competition. It’s safe to say we have a new rising star among us or I should more accurately say… Bandit.
Coming in second was PJ, whose powerful drives often found their mark, reaching the green effortlessly on what felt like a shortened course today. Our esteemed Mr. Captain was proudly awarded ‘The Visor’, a fitting honor that will surely be prominently displayed at Macclesfield for the upcoming Spring Cup. We eagerly anticipate seeing everyone there for what promises to be another fantastic event.
